A plug (10'') for a connector for the electrical connection of motor vehicle trailers has a connector housing which is provided on its approximately cylindrical outer surface with a projection (30), standing proud radially, on which there is held a disc-shaped cover plate (32) which is used as the support for a socket cover. A cladding (66), arranged between the cover plate circumferential edge (33) and the connector housing, is provided in the space below the cover plate (32) for better, more secure engagement of the connector, and providing better protection for the hands, by means of which cladding (66) the space is at least partially filled. <IMAGE>

Ein Stecker (10") für eine Steckverbindung für den elektrischen Anschluß von Kraftfahrzeuganhängern weist ein Steckergehäuse auf, das an seiner etwa zylindrischen Außenseite mit einem radial abstehenden Ansatz (30) versehen ist, auf dem ein scheibenförmiger Deckelteller (32) aufgenommen ist, der als Auflage für einen Steckdosendeckel dient. Zum besseren, sichereren und handschonenderen Ergreifen des Steckers ist im Raum unterhalb des Deckeltellers (32) eine zwischen Deckeltellerumfangskante (33) und Steckergehäuse angeordnete Verkleidung (66) vorgesehen, durch die der Raum zumindest teilweise ausgefüllt wird.
