[origin: WO9000937A1] The invention relates to a wire gun with a feed device for the wire with a feed roller for the wire driven by a motor and a counter-roller pressing the wire against the feed roller and a device for controlling the wire feed rate. Prior art wire guns of this kind have the drawback that the wire feed rate is not controlled accurately enough and, in flame treatment, does not result in the sufficiently uniform feed of the wire material to be sprayed. The purpose of the invention is to provide a wire gun with precise feed rate control. This purpose is attained in that there is a measuring wheel scanning the wire to measure the effective feed rate and the device for controlling the wire feed rate includes a device for altering the pressure exerted by the counter-roller dependently upon a deviation from the set value which cannot be controlled by the effect of the control device on the motor drive.
