[origin: EP0385069A2] The invention relates to a device for grinding the points of tungsten electrodes, with a driven grinding wheel and an electrode holder for an electrode rotatably mounted therein about its axis, the electrode holder being arranged on a rotary plate, and the rotary plate being pivotable about an axis orthogonal relative to the axis of the grinding wheel and also being advanceable in the direction of the axis of the grinding wheel. In order to reduce the effect of deformations of the tungsten electrodes during the grinding of the electrode point, the electrode holder is to have a support for a collet accommodating the electrode, the support having fixed abutments for the collet end remote from the electrode and for the free electrode end and also a counterstay acting in the centre area of the collet and pressing the collet against the fixed abutments. <IMAGE>
