[origin: EP0385193A2] A gripper for manipulators, comprising a gripper frame (1), at least one gripper arm (9) for holding at least one clamping jaw (14), and means for moving the gripper arm from a waiting position to a working position and back, is described. A toggle-lever parallelogram (6, 8, 8a) in conjunction with a piston/cylinder unit (2) which drives a push-rod (6) is provided as the means for moving each gripper arm (9). The toggle levers (8, 8a) are articulated, on the one hand, to the gripper arm (9) and, on the other hand, to the push-rod (6). Each gripper arm (9) is articulated, in turn, to a guiding link (12) which is pivotably mounted on the gripper frame (1). The distance between the point of articulation and the fixed bearing (13) of the guiding link on the gripper frame is large in comparison with the pivoting angle upon deflection by the gripper arm. As a result, the deviation of the movement path of the gripper arms from the straight line is insignificantly small. <IMAGE>
