[origin: EP0385219A2] A mechanically clampable repairing insert (1) is provided in order rapidly and simply to repair a defective heat exchanger tube (3). The repairing insert (1) consists of a sleeve (5) through which there projects a tubular body (7), which is supported on the sleeve (5) by means of a headpiece (9) and is provided at the other end with a thread (11) and a nut (13) for clamping the repairing insert (1) in the heat exchanger tube (2). At least one inverted ring (15) is arranged in each case between the sleeve (5) and the headpiece (9) and between the sleeve (5) and the nut (13). By tightening the nut (13), the inverted rings (15) are clamped and seal the repairing insert (1) against the heat exchanger tube (3). This repairing insert (1) enables rapid repair of a heat exchanger tube (3), as a result of which the radiation exposure of service staff is kept low. <IMAGE>
