[origin: EP0385242A2] The invention relates to a front attachment for lift trucks which is intended for taking hold of, lifting, slewing and depositing cylindrical bodies and has two gripping arms 8 and 10. The object of the invention is to provide a front attachment which enables the gripping arms 8 and 10 to effectively reach around the cylindrical body to be picked up when the latter is lying with a horizontal axis on the ground, the front attachment on the other hand also being designed in such a way that, when the cylindrical body is put down, its axis can be exactly vertical. For this purpose, an intermediate component 16, 22 is provided on which the supporting part 7 on which the gripping arms 8 and 10 are mounted is rotatably mounted, the intermediate component 16, 22 being pivotable to a limited extent by means of a drive 17, 23, 24 about a pivot axis 18 relative to the component 15, 20, 21 which can be attached to the supporting plate 4 of the lifting slide. <IMAGE>
