[origin: EP0385871A1] The invention concerns a road joint constituted by two rigid frames (4) connected to each other by means of a flexible band (2) constituted by a body made of elastomer having a cross-section in the shape of an inverted V or U with thick flanges and reinforced by a central horizontal rigid plate (1), each frame terminating on the side of the centre of the joint by a lower horizontal heel piece (3) on which the corresponding flange of the said body made of elastomer rests and adheres. The lower face of the rigid plate (1) reinforcing the flexible band (2) is concave and laterally delimited by two planes which are slightly inclined to the horizontal and the heel pieces of the frames (4) have upper surfaces (8) which are parallel to these planes. <IMAGE>
