[origin: EP0385886A1] A circuit-breaker with rotating arc comprises a pair of separable arc-contacts (22, 23), a coil (34) for setting the arc (64) into rotation, and an annular migration electrode (36). Guide fins (56) are arranged inside the cutoff chamber (26) in order to slow the rotation of the gas in a first peripheral zone (60), so as to generate a differential speed between the arc (64) and the gas (66) promoting thermal exchange in a second zone (62) neighbouring the cutoff gap. <IMAGE>
