Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0386389A1] A guide tube (7) is arranged on the buffer cylinder (6) at the rear end of an automatic firearm (1). A retaining ring (12) is slipped non-rotatably, but axially displaceably onto this guide tube (7). In a front operating position represented by unbroken lines, the retaining ring (12) prevents the trigger lever (2) from being pressed down and consequently any firing of a shot. In a rear operating position of the retaining ring (12), as represented by dot-and-dash lines, the trigger lever (2) can be freely actuated. The safety device is of simple construction and simple to operate and it can easily be attached to existing firearms. <IMAGE>
