[origin: US4951619A] A self-adjusting hydraulic valve tappet arranged in a guide bore of a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and against one end face of which a control cam abuts and which on the other side bears against the end of a valve stem with its second end face, the valve tappet comprising a cup-shaped housing consisting of a hollow cylindrical wall closed at one end by a bottom against which the control cam abuts from outside and which is provided with a cylindrical guide sleeve concentric with the hollow cylindrical wall and extending at one end towards the bottom and at the other into the center of a disk member which with its outer periphery merges into the hollow cylindrical wall of the housing whereby between the hollow cylindrical wall and the cylindrical guide sleeve an annular oil reservoir supplied with oil through a bore leading to the out-side is defined, the actual hydraulic clearance compensation element being guided longitudinally displaceably in the guide sleeve and formed by an inner piston and an outer piston engaging over this.

Bei einem sich selbsttätig hydraulisch einstellenden Ventilstößel, der in einer Führungsbohrung eines Zylinderkopfes einer Brennkraftmaschine angeordnet ist, und gegen dessen eine Stirnfläche ein Steuernocken anläuft, und der andererseits mit einer zweiten Stirnfläche gegen das Ende eines Ventilschaftes anliegt, wobei der Ventilstößel aus einem tassenförmigen Gehäuse (1) besteht, welches eine hohlzylindrische Wandung (2) umfaßt, die am einen Ende durch einen Boden (3) verschlossen ist, gegen welchen von außen der Steuernocken anläuft, und welches eine zu der hohlzylindrischen Wandung (2) konzentrische zylindrische Führungshülse (4) aufweist, die sich einenends zum Boden (3) hin und andernends bis in das Zentrum eines Scheibenteiles (7) erstreckt, welches mit seinem Außenumfang in die hohlzylindrische Wandung (2) des Gehäuses (1) übergeht, wobei in der Führungshülse (4) das eigentliche hydraulische Spielausgleichselement angeordnet ist, werden nachteilige Folgen der im Betrieb auftretenden Durchbiegungen des Bodens (3) dadurch ausgeschaltet, daß die Führungshülse (4) an ihrem dem Boden (3) benachbarten Ende einen annähernd nach außen gerichteten, im Abstand vom Boden (3) verlaufenden Flansch (5) aufweist, der sich bis an die Bohrung der hohlzylindrischen Wandung (2) erstreckt.
