[origin: EP0386699A2] A drive for the cutter blocks (11) of a paper shredder consists of an electric motor (5) with downstream reduction gear (6 to 10). Situated on each of the plane sides (9a and 9b) of an intermediate gearwheel (9) are recesses (14) and mutually opposite stop faces (15 and 16) which, in cooperation with corresponding driving pins (13) on the associated free shaft end (12a) of the cutter block drive shafts (12), constitute a free-wheel coupling for forward- and backward- movement actuation. <IMAGE>
