[origin: EP0387142A1] The invention relates to a tile cutting machine, particularly for sandstone tiles, comprising: a guide track (3); a cutting assembly (7- 12-15-8-11) mounted for movement along said guide track, guided by this guide track and provided with a cutting tool (11); and a member (18-20-21) for breaking the tile after scoring, which comprises two pressure blocks (21), is mounted adjustably for position (19) relative to said cutting assembly and is able to occupy two positions: a first position, in which the pressure blocks (21) do not press on the surface (22b) of the tile to be broken (22), and a second position, in which, in contrast, the pressure blocks (21) are in contact with the surface (22c) of the tile to be broken, either side of a longitudinal plane (P) of the cutting assembly passing through the cutting tool (11), and press upon the surface of the tile with sufficient pressure to break the tile (22). <??>According to the invention, the breaking member (18-20-21) is mounted on the cutting assembly (7-8-11) itself. <??>One application is to the construction of a machine able to deliver high-quality cutting. <IMAGE>
