Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0387192A1] In stop logs for a shut-off device which is used in particular in hydraulic engineering, having an elongated hollow body which is rectangular in cross-section and which has a connection side provided with a groove element and, opposite said connection side, a connection side essentially parallel thereto and provided with a spring element complementary to the groove element as well as two opposite, essentially parallel wall sides which have a plane surface on the outside and end on the connection side in sealing bearing surfaces, and with sealing strips which are arranged on the sealing bearing surfaces of one connection side and of which each has a projecting head strip to which a connection-side recess is allocated in order to accommodate it, the stop logs, in order to obtain adequate tightness of the shut-off device created by placing the stop logs one on top of the other, have to be braced by means of tension bolts so than no water can escape between the plane surface of the sealing strip and the sealing bearing surface resting on this sealing strip. This complicates the assembly and dismantling of the shut-off device. A shut-off device which provides a sound seal and is easy to assemble and dismantle can be produced from stop logs in which the sealing strips (30) are arranged on the sealing bearing surfaces (26) of the connection side (20) provided with the spring element (14) and in each case have at least one sealing lip (34, 36) on the side remote from their sealing bearing surface (26), which sealing lip (34, 36) is inclined to the inside towards the spring element (14), away from the wall side (16) having a plane surface and adjoining the sealing bearing surface (26) of the said sealing lip. <IMAGE>
