[origin: EP0387198A1] A cistern comprises compartments (11, 16) with fold-out door leaves (4, 15). These compartments are useful for holding, for example, a roll of toilet paper or for accommodating appliances, for example an odour extractor or a telephone. The hinges of the leaves (4, 15) are designed so that the leaves can be hung without tools before the cistern is mounted, but cannot be removed when the cistern is mounted on a wall. The connection piece for the outlet pipe of the cistern is arranged behind a front cover (14) formed on the body (1) of the cistern between the door leaves (4, 15). A cover for the outlet pipe can be inserted from below in said connection piece for the outlet pipe.
