Twisted stirrup for connecting or sealing elements is of V-shaped configuration, the lower region of each of the two legs (1, 2) forming an elongated loop (4, 5) with sealing means (6, 7) which consist of the closed end (6) of the narrower loop (4) on the one hand and of a sealing piece (7), which points into the interior of the broader loop (5) and lies in the same plane as the loop, on the other hand. The stirrup has a shoulder (10) on both sides of the point of transition (9) between the two legs (1, 2). By means of a device, the stirrup is laid around the elements to be connected or around the opening to be sealed, whereupon the sealing means (6, 7) are brought into engagement with one another by the device, and the stirrup is grasped and twisted in the region of the point of transition (9) by a connecting hook of the device. The loops (4, 5), when seen in their plane, are outwardly curved and the closed end piece (6) possesses a thinned portion (8) and is bent towards the other loop (5). Such a stirrup guarantees reliable functioning of the device for connecting. <IMAGE>

Verdrillbarer Drahtbügel zum Verbinden oder Verschliessen von Gegenständen ist V-förmig ausgebildet, wobei der untere Bereich von jedem der beiden Schenkel (1,2) eine längliche Schlaufe (4,5) mit Verschlussmitteln (6,7) bildet, die aus dem geschlossenen Ende (6) der schmäleren Schlaufe (4) einerseits und einem in das Innere der breiteren Schlaufe (5) weisenden, in der gleichen Ebene wie die Schlaufe liegenden Verschlussstück (7) andererseits bestehen. Beidseitig der Uebergangsstelle (9) zwischen den beiden Schenkeln (4,5) weist der Bügel je einen Absatz (10) auf. Mittels einer Vorrichtung wird der Bügel um die zu verbindenden Gegenstände oder um die zu verschliessende Oeffnung gelegt, wonach die Verschlussmittel (6,7) durch die Vorrichtung miteinander zum Eingriff gebracht werden und der Drahtbügel im Bereich der Uebergangsstelle (9) durch einen Bindehaken der Vorrichtung erfasst und verdrillt wird. Die Schlaufen (4,5) sind in ihrer Ebene gesehen nach aussen gewölbt und das geschlossene Endstück (6) weist eine Verdünnung (8) auf und ist zur anderen Schlaufe (5) hin abgebogen. Ein solcher Drahtbügel gewährleistet ein sicheres Arbeiten der Vorrichtung zum Verbinden.
