Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0387530A1] A device for deflecting an advancing film web (1) folded flat along its longitudinal middle line (2) to form a half-tube, this web in turn being used to wrap advancing articles to be packaged, comprises two self-supporting guide rails (5, 6) which run parallel to one another and can be displaced vertically and laterally relative to one another, and, arranged in a self-supporting manner underneath the guide rails, two guide plates (7, 8) which are displaceable laterally relative to one another and vertically relative to the guide rails. The free end of each guide rail is connected to the free end of the guide plate underneath by means of a cable or the like (17, 18), the cable at the free end of each guide plate being guided displaceably and deflected substantially parallel into the plane of the guide plate. That end of each cable which is turned away from the free end of the guide rail is subjected to a force which holds the cables tautly between the free end of the guide rail and guide plate and permits a lengthening or shortening of the cable between these free ends. <IMAGE>
