Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0387763A1] The process consists in producing a body of knitting (1) with substantially tubular extension, and in knitting portions (3) of said body (1), which are to be removed, with a thread which is more economical with respect to the threads used for producing the remaining part of the product (1). The low-cost threads are meshed with the threads of the remaining part (2,4) of the product (1) proximate to the edge where the knitting of the portions to be removed begins, and the threads of the remaining part of the product are subsequently cut. Another meshing of the low-cost threads with the threads of the remaining part of the product is performed at the edge where the knitting of the portions to be removed ends, and the low-cost threads are subsequently cut.
