[origin: EP0388301A1] The invention relates to an ammunition feed device for an automatic firearm (2) movable in translational motion relative to a stationary supply unit (1), comprising means (5, 8) for transferring the ammunition over an arc of a circle between the supply unit and the firearm in parallel with itself and perpendicularly to the translational movement of the firearm. It comprises a helical ramp (11) of variable pitch, and the same axis (6) as the ammunition transfer arc, one end of said ramp being fixed to the firearm and its other end being fixed to the supply unit, said ramp possessing guide means (14) for positioning the ammunition axially during its transfer. <IMAGE>
