Abstract (en)
The refractory structure is composed of two refractory pieces (11, 13) masoned into each other, the first piece (11) forming an upper refractory brick which delimits an upper runner (10), the said brick being masoned into the refractory lining (6) which lines the bottom of the casting ladle, and the second refractory piece (13) forming a lower ring which delimits a lower runner (16) extending the upper runner (10). The gap between the two abovementioned refractory pieces (11, 13) is filled with a mortar joint (18) which extends to form a frustoconical surface surrounding a part of the lower runner and extends as far as the outer cylindrical surface of the outer flange (15) of the ring (13), surrounding the said outer cylindrical surface as far as the outer surface of the bottom (1) of the casting ladle. <IMAGE>
