[origin: EP0388596A1] The pump tube (10) for a peristaltic pump consists in the non-deformed state of two arcuate sections (11, 12) which merge into one another along joint lines (14), so that the tube bore (20) has the cross-sectional shape of a convex lens. Adjacent to the joints (13) of the arcuate sections (11, 12) are outwardly pointing webs (15). When the tube (10) is pressed together, only moderate pinching occurs at the joints (13). The tube has a substantially improved pinching and restoring behaviour. The webs (15) prevent overpinching. <IMAGE>
