Die Betriebsweise einer Vorrichtung zum Abtrennen von nichtmagnetisierbaren Metallen, insbesondere Nichteisen-Metallen, aus einem Feststoffgemisch mittels eines Wechselmagnetfeldes läßt sich verbessern und die Vorrichtung konstruktiv vereinfachen, indem der Magnetfelderzeuger (15) neben einer geradlinigen und/oder gekrümmten und/oder abgeknickten Gleitbahn (4) aus einem elektrisch schlecht leitfähigen Material angeordnet ist.
