In a closure (V) for pharmaceutical bottles (1) which has a pierceable insert (2) which is held by a closure cap (3) which is heat seal coated on the outside, an opening (5) is provided in said closure cap, which opening is closed prior to use by a plastic cap (4) seated on the closure cap (3). According to the invention, the plastic cap (4) is welded in a hermetically tight manner to the closure cap (3) along a welding zone which is approximately linear in its radial extension and returns into itself in the circumferential direction. According to particularly advantageous embodiments of the invention, the welding zone is located on a bead (6) which is of thinner wall cross-section and projects from the end face of the closure cap in the direction of the outside of the bottle or is directed towards the inside of the bottle according to another embodiment. In a method for making this closure, a thinner wall region of the closure cap (3), which is approximately linear in its radial extension and returns into itself in the circumferential direction, is preferably moulded on in the form of a bead (6) and then, with the assistance of the comparatively more rapid heat transition in the thinner wall region, a welding zone, which is virtually linear in the radial direction, is produced between the closure cap and the plastic cap (3, 4). <IMAGE>

Bei einem Verschluß (V) für Medikamentenflaschen (1), der einen durchstechbaren Einsatz (2) hat, der durch eine außen heißsiegelfähig beschichtete Verschlußkappe (3) festgehalten wird, ist in dieser Verschlußkappe eine Öffnung (5) vorgesehen, die vor Gebrauch mit einer auf der Verschlußkappe (3) sitzenden Kunststoffkappe (4) verschlossen ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist die Kunststoffkappe (4) mit der Verschlußkappe (3) entlang einer in Umfangsrichtung in sich zurücklaufenden, in ihrer radialen Erstreckung etwa linienförmigen Verschweißzone hermetisch dicht verschweißt. Nach besonders vorteilhaften Ausführungen der Erfindung liegt die Verschweißzone auf einer im Wandquerschnitt verdünnten Sicke (6), die in Richtung des Flaschenäußeren aus der Stirnseite der Verschlußkappe vorsteht oder gemäß einer anderen Ausführung in Richtung auf das Flascheninnere hin gerichtet ist. Bei einem Verfahren zum Herstellen dieses Verschlusses ist ein verdünnter, entlang einer in Umfangsrichtung in sich zurücklaufenden, in ihrer radialen Ausdehnung etwa linienförmiger Wandbereich der Verschlußkappe (3) vorzugsweise in Form einer Sicke (6) angeformt und dann unter Zuhilfenahme des vergleichsweise schnelleren Wärmedurchgangs beim verdünnten Wandbereich eine in radialer Richtung nahezu linienförmige Verschweißzone zwischen der Verschluß- und der Kunststoffkappe (3, 4) hergestellt worden.
