Abstract (en)

For the passivation of pyrophoric metals, in particular magnesium, the metal is coated with 0.5 to 5% by weight of an s-triazine derivative, such as melamine, benzoguanamine, melam, melem and/or melon, melamine- and/or benzoguanamine-formaldehyde condensates and/or guanidine, cyanoguanidine, guanylurea, guanidine phosphate, guanidine sulphamate or guanidine cyanurate, based on the weight of the metal, as a passivating agent. Metals passivated in this manner are suitable in particular as treatment agents for metallurgical melts.

Zur Passivierung von pyrophoren Metallen, insbesondere Magnesium, beschichtet man das Metall mit 0,5 bis 5 Gew.-% eines s-Triazin-Derivates wie Melamin, Benzoguanamin, Melam, Melem oder/und Melon, Melamin- oder/und Benzoguanamin-Formaldehyd-Kondensationsprodukt oder/und Guanidin, Cyanoguanidin, Guanylharnstoff, Guanidinphosphat, Guanidinsulfamat oder Guanidincyanurat, bezogen auf das Gewicht des Metalles, als Passivierungsmittel. So passivierte Metalle eignen sich besonders als Behandlungsmittel für metallurgische Schmelzen.
