Abstract (en)

[origin: JPH02283464A] PURPOSE: To print with different printing rasters by using the same character generators while maintaining reductions in a noise and an impact load by providing one delay unit for each printing element. CONSTITUTION: Data of one printing row supplied in parallel from a character generator to a connecting line 35 is supplied to a memory 40, written in the memory by a pulse on a lead wire 49 generated after reading end of the generator. And, the data written in a storage register 40 is supplied to a switch 42 via a connecting line 40. The switch 42 is selectively switched to supply the parallel data to data input terminals 431, 432,..., 439 of a plurality of delay units 441, 442,..., 449. Data to two printing needles 14 of a center is supplied to the unit 441. Information to the adjacent two needles 14 is supplied to the unit 442. And, these delay units delay two bit. Thus, various change of the character shape during printing can be relatively simply conducted.
