Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0389746A2] The invention relates to a process for repairing railway fastenings on wooden sleepers. After removing the old sleeper screw, which becomes loose in the course of time due to rotting of the wood, a thread is cut into the passage holes (11) of the ribbed sole-plate (2). New sleeper screws (33) with a single or double thread (37, 39) having a greater volume than the thread of the old sleeper screw are screwed into the boreholes (11) of the sleeper (1). One thread (37) of this single or double thread (37, 39) has a larger outside diameter that the passage hole (9) of the ribbed sole-plate (2). This thread (37) is matched to the thread (30) cut into the ribbed sole-plate (2). To permit simple guiding of the new sleeper screw (3) into the borehole (11) of the sleeper (1), the old cut-in thread (12) is used for guiding a thread cutter when cutting the thread (30) into the ribbed sole-plate (2) and for the new sleeper screw (33). Fig. 6 is intended for the abstract. <IMAGE>
