This toe binding is provided for fastening a ski boot to be inserted by means of two lateral bent levers which can be swivelled out counter to the force of a release spring which is accommodated in a housing and is penetrated by a connecting rod. In this arrangement, the horizontal plane of engagement of the two bent levers on the sole of the boot is situated below the horizontal centre-plane of the two lateral bent levers which rest on the cap of the ski boot. <??>In order to have a more compact design of this toe binding, the invention provides for the swivel axles (12a, 12b) of the two bent levers (13a, 13b) to be arranged in a bearing part (11) which can be swivelled about a transverse axle (10a, 10b) extending in the region of the upper side of the housing (2) on the side (2b) facing the ski boot. <IMAGE>

Dieser Vorderbacken ist zur Halterung eines einzusetzenden Skischuhs mit zwei seitlichen Winkelhebeln versehen, die gegen die Kraft einer Auslösefeder ausschwenkbar sind, welche in einem Gehäuse untergebracht und von einer Zugstange durchsetzt ist. Dabei befindet sich die horizontale Angriffsebene der beiden Winkelhebel an der Schuhsohle unterhalb der horizontalen Mittelebene der beiden seitlichen Winkelhebel, welche an der Kappe des Skischuhs anliegen. Um diesen Vorderbacken kompakter zu gestalten, sieht die Erfindung vor, daß die Schwenkachsen (12a, 12b) der beiden Winkelhebel (13a, 13b) in einem Lagerteil (11) angeordnet sind, der um eine im Bereich der Oberseite des Gehäuses (2) an der dem Skischuh zugewandten Seite (2b) verlaufende Querachse (10a, 10b) verschwenkbar ist.
