[origin: EP0389757A1] This toe binding is provided for fastening a ski boot to be inserted by means of two lateral bent levers which can be swivelled out counter to the force of a release spring which is accommodated in a housing and is penetrated by a connecting rod. In this arrangement, the horizontal plane of engagement of the two bent levers on the sole of the boot is situated below the horizontal centre-plane of the two lateral bent levers which rest on the cap of the ski boot. <??>In order to have a more compact design of this toe binding, the invention provides for the swivel axles (12a, 12b) of the two bent levers (13a, 13b) to be arranged in a bearing part (11) which can be swivelled about a transverse axle (10a, 10b) extending in the region of the upper side of the housing (2) on the side (2b) facing the ski boot. <IMAGE>
