The invention relates to a circuit for monitoring a high-voltage ignition system of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle or the like for shunts and/or short circuits, having a series circuit formed from the primary winding of an ignition coil and from an interruptor and connected to a supply voltage or battery voltage. It proposes, in particular for a catalytic converter protection function, that a measurement arrangement (11) which detects the primary current (i) of the ignition coil (2) and converts this current into a corresponding test voltage (UPr) be used, which measurement arrangement (11) has an evaluation circuit (10) which compares the test voltage (UPr) with the voltage supply (Uv) and issues a fault report when the test voltage (UPr) is too large in comparison with the supply voltage (Uv). <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schaltungsanordnung zur Überwachung einer Hochspannungszündanlage einer Brennkraftmaschine eines Kraftfahrzeuges oder dergleichen auf Neben- und/oder Kurzschlüsse, mit einer aus der Primärwicklung einer Zündspule und einem Unterbrecher gebildeten Reihenschaltung, die an eine Versorgungsspannung bzw. Batteriespannung angeschlossen ist. Sie schlägt insbesondere für eine Katalysatorschutzfunktion vor, eine den Primärstrom (i) der Zündspule (2) erfassende und diesen in eine entsprechende Prüfspannung (UPr) umwandelnde Meßanordnung (11) einzusetzen, die eine die Prüfspannung (Upr) mit der Versorgungsspannung (UV) vergleichende Auswerteschaltung (10) aufweist und bei gegenüber der Versorgungsspannung (UV) zu großer Prüfspannung (UPr) eine Fehlermeldung abgibt.
