Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (1) zur Steuerung einer Vor- und Haupteinspritzmenge mit dazwischenliegender Einspritzpause, bei der in einer die Kraftstoffeinspritzpumpe (8) und die Einspritzdüse (9) verbindenden Druckleitung (7) ein erstes Steuerteil (2) mit einem die Voreinspritzung auslösenden Steuerkolben (12) angeordnet ist, der mit einem die Einspritzpausenmenge steuernden separat liegenden zweiten Steuerteil (3) in Wirkverbindung steht, wobei die vom Pausenkolben (24) des zweiten Steuerteils (3) bestimmte Einspritzpausenmenge gespeichert oder niederdruckseitig abgesteuert wird.
