[origin: EP0389912A1] Radiators for fully illuminating sales rooms, hotel foyers and the like generally make use of point-source lamps which are arranged in the region of the focal point of a parabolic reflector. Should it be required to be able to vary the radiation characteristic within certain limits in such a radiator, this can be carried out by means of adjusting the lampholder in the principal direction of radiation of the radiator. For a radiator (1) whose reflector housing (2) has a tubular attachment (2.0), a holder unit (7) consisting of an annular can (7.1), which can be axially adjusted in a setting ring (7.4) and to which a lampholder (7.2) is attached, is provided for adjusting the socket. As a result, the attachment of the holder unit (7) in its setting ring (7.4) is performed in wall passages (2.13) of the tubular attachment (2.0) of the reflector housing. <IMAGE>
