In a package carrier for receiving yarns, with a rotationally symmetrical one-piece or multi-piece body forming a supporting surface (2) carrying the yarn, the body (1) is equipped at each of its two ends with an annularly extending toothing (3, 4; 13, 14). The teeth (5, 6; 15) of this toothing (3, 4; 13, 14) project in the axial direction, and their radially outer faces adjoin the supporting surface (2) continuously. Their outside diameters are identical to one another. The teeth (5, 6; 15) of one toothing (3, 4; 13, 14) are matched respectively to the tooth interspaces of the other toothing (3, 4; 13, 14). The package carrier is wound with yarn from the region of one toothing (3, 4; 13, 14) into the region of the other toothing (3, 4; 13, 14). The sum of the axial lengths of the wound regions of the two toothings (3, 4; 13, 14) corresponds essentially to the amount by which the toothings of axially adjacent package carriers can be introduced into one another. <IMAGE>

Bei einem Wickelträger zur Aufnahme von Garnen, mit einem rotationssymmetrischen, ein- oder mehrstückigen Körper, der eine das Garn tragende Tragfläche (2) bildet, ist vorgesehen, daß der Körper (1) an seinen beiden Enden jeweils mit einer ringförmig verlaufenden Verzahnung (3,4;13,14) versehen ist. Die Zähne (5,6; 15) dieser Verzahnung (3,4;13,14) stehen in axialer Richtung vor, und ihre radial außen liegenden Flächen schließen sich stufenlos an die Tragfläche (2) an. Ihre Außendurchmesser sind untereinander gleich. Die Zähne (5,6; 15) der einen Verzahnung (3,4;13,14) sind jeweils den Zahnzwischenräumen der anderen Verzahnung (3,4;13,14) angepaßt. Der Wickelträger wird von dem Bereich der einen Verzahnung (3,4; 13,14) bis in den Bereich der anderen Verzahnung (3,4;13,14) bespult. Die Summe der axialen Längen der bespulten Bereiche der beiden Verzahnungen (3,4;13,14) entspricht im wesentlichen dem Maß, um das die Verzahnungen axial benachbarter Wickelträger ineinander eingeführt werden können.
