Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0390006A1] In an electrical connector assembly, a slide is used which moves at right angles to the plug-in direction of the first and of the second housing, in order to be able to couple or decouple the associated contact and mating contact elements held in the housings easily. In order in this case to avoid sealing problems in guiding the slide it is proposed that the first housing be split into two plug parts, connected to one another, and that the second housing be split into two socket parts, which are complementary thereto, which socket parts are in each case located at a distance from one another at right angles to the plug-in direction of the housing parts and on which the contact and mating contact elements are distributed. A single-wall control printed-circuit board is used as the slide, which is located outside the housing, namely in a plane between the plug parts and the socket parts. Each plug part with its socket part is inherently sealed, without it being adversely affected by the control printed- circuit board. <IMAGE>
