[origin: EP0390198A2] An ink jet recording apparatus includes a recording head (1) having ink discharging portions (2,4,5) for discharging ink and an ink chamber (3) for supplying the ink to the discharging portions (2,4) in accordance with discharging of the ink by the discharging portions (2,4,5); a plurality of ink supply ports (6A,6B) for supplying the ink to the ink chamber (3); ink supplying systems for supplying the ink through the ink supplying ports (6A,6B); a plurality of temperature detector (8A,8B) for detecting temperatures of the recording head (1) at different positions; a controller, responsive to the temperature detectors (8A,8B), for controlling supply of the ink through the ink supply ports (6A,6B) and by the ink supplying systems.
