[origin: EP0390732A1] The pressure sensor (P) and a time-measuring member actuate the drain plug (15) of the pipe (7) as a function of a predetermined programme. When the plug is open, the feed to the machine is interrupted. When it is closed, the aspirated air entrains the particles of tobacco from the bed (5), and a vacuum (P) exists at the level of the sensor (P), having a predetermined index value PC. If, the plug being closed, a blockage forms in the lower aperture of the sleeve (23), the latter is aspirated upwards and impacts against the rods (19), which dislodges the blockage. If the pressure continues to drop, the plug (15) is opened, the sleeve falls back and the dislodgement is reliably produced. <IMAGE>
