[origin: EP0391013A1] The device for connecting at least two rods by means of a wire link (5) contains a movable handle part, arranged on one housing part (1), for the forward movement of the wire link (5), and closing jaws (15, 16) which are constructed so as to bring into engagement closure means on the wire link underneath the rods to be connected, and also, in the other housing part (2), a binding hook (6) on a twisted rod (7) in order to twist the closed loop, situated above the rods to be connected, of the wire link. A sliding plate (32) connected to the handle (4) is provided with means to guarantee the actuation of a bending peg (58) on a closing jaw (16) for the secure closure of the wire link and with means to control and effect reliable separation and the advance of the wire links. Such a device is suitable, even in the rough environment of a building site, for guaranteeing safe, rapid and relatively smooth working. <IMAGE>
