[origin: EP0391038A1] The lance pipe (1) of a soot blower is provided at the front end with nozzles (2) and connected at the rear end via a soot blower valve (9) to a feed for the blowing medium. A throttling device consisting of a diaphragm (17) is arranged in the vicinity of the nozzles (2) inside the lance pipe (1).
