In known centrifuges for continuously separating materials of different densities, nozzles for the discharge of the dense material are arranged on the drum shell in the discharge area of the dense material, which nozzles are operatively connected to an adjusting device located outside the centrifuge drum by adjusting members arranged inside the centrifuge drum. The nozzle openings are here opened and closed by means of hydraulic pressure-fluid media. This is not only complicated and costly but also problematic with regard to the sealing of the pressure fluid. In addition, the adjusting members arranged inside the centrifuge drum are not accessible from outside and are therefore also difficult to service and exchange. These disadvantages are removed according to the invention in a particularly simple manner by the adjusting members (4) for opening and closing the nozzle openings (14) being arranged on the outside on the centrifuge drum (1) and by being in operative connection with the adjusting device (6, 9) via mechanical connecting elements (5, 10). <IMAGE>

Bei bekannten Zentrifugen zum kontinuierlichen Trennen von Stoffen unterschiedlicher Dichte sind am Trommelmantel im Dickstoffaustragsbereich Düsen für den Austrag des Dickstoffes angeordnet, die durch innerhalb der Zentrifugentrommel angeordnete Einstellorgane, mit außerhalb der Zentrifugentrommel befindlichen Verstelleinrichtung in Wirkverbindung stehen. Das Öffnen und Schließen der Düsenöffnungen erfolgt hierbei mit Hilfe hydraulischer Druckflüssigkeitsmedien. Dies ist nicht nur kompliziert und kostenaufwendig, sondern auch hinsichtlich der Druckflüssigkeitsabdichtung problematisch. Darüber hinaus sind die innerhalb der Zentrifugentrommel angeordneten Einstellorgane von außen nicht zugängig und daher auch schwierig zu warten und auszuwechseln. Diese Nachteile werde gemäß der Erfindung in besonders einfacher Weise dadurch beseitigt, daß die Einstellorgane (4) zum Öffnen und Schließen der Düsenöffnungen (14) außen an der Zentrifugentrommel (1) angeordnet sind und über mechanische Verbindungselemente (5, 10) mit der Verstelleinrichtung (6, 9) in Wirkverbindung stehen.
