Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0391110A2] For threading a yarn from a cop into yarn-guide elements of a ring spinning machine, the yarn (6.1) coming from the cop is held at its free end in an elastically acting retention store (15) and is clamped against the stationary yarn carrier (40). The clamped yarn piece (6.1) is supported in a specific position (25) directly above the spinning ring (23) on the same side as the yarn carrier (40) and is guided up to the spinning ring (23) tangentially relative to the latter and at an inclination ("alpha") relative to the plane of the spinning ring (23) by means of the controlledly positionable mouth (16) of the retention store (15). Subsequently, the runner (24) is drawn onto the yarn out of the region of the lower clamping point of the yarn piece (6.1) in the direction of the higher clamping point. The controlled movement cycles afford a high accuracy of yarn guidance during threading and therefore an especially high degree of success. The method can be integrated into winding and piecing operations taking place automatically. <IMAGE>
