[origin: EP0391140A2] A flat display device has a control arrangement (38) which is held by a frame (18). The frame is connected to the front plate (11) of the display device via a spring arrangement (39, 40, 37). In contrast, an arrangement having cathode wires (25) is mounted on the trough (12) of the device. If the trough is placed on the front plate, contact springs (44) on a contact strip (43) on the said frame of the control arrangement make contact with contacts on a mating contact strip (46) on the trough. In consequence, contact can be made with the control arrangement with a single-piece trough, although the latter is mounted on the front plate. Since the control arrangement is connected to a stable frame, it can be mounted in the interior of the display device in a versatile manner. <IMAGE>
