[origin: EP0391184A2] A polarisation branch for two different frequency bands is specified for illuminating an antenna with a parabolic deflector. It consists of a tube (2) with a circular, unobstructed cross-section in which two mutually perpendicular linear-polarised waves are guided for each frequency band. A dedicated coupling point in the form of an opening (9) incorporated in the wall of the tube (2) is present for each of the four waves. The two openings (9) allocated to one frequency band are in each case offset axially and through 90 DEG in the circumferential direction with respect to one another, while in each case two openings (9) intended for waves of different frequency bands are incorporated located diametrically opposite one another in the tube (2). Between the two mutually opposite openings (9) at least one short-circuit element (13) is incorporated in each case in the tube (2). A waveguide (5, 7) fitted with filter elements (10) and having a rectangular cross-section, is connected onto the tube (2) on each opening (9).
