In order to be able to handle without problems the unstable resistance coils (heating coil 9 and regulating coil 10) contained in the glow plug and, in particular, in order to make possible automatic assembly of the heating body on conventional production lines, an additional resistance coil (11) with a constant resistance is provided between the connection stud (6) and the regulating coil (10), leading to a lowering of the resistances of the heating and regulating coils and hence to an increase in the cross-section of these wires. <IMAGE>
