Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0392757A1] Apparatus for the detection of a missing yarn in the weaving of a carpet of the gripper Axminster type comprises an infra-red scanner to detect yarn and a further scanner to detect grippers. The sensor outputs are processed in a logic circuit which produces a signal to indicate a missing yarn. Preferably the yarn sensor emits a broad infra-red beam and the grippers sensor emits a focussed beam.
