[origin: EP0392988A1] An insert (4) reinforced with ceramic particles or fibres is inserted in the so-called bridge region of the flame plate. The insert (4) is fixed by being positioned in the casting mould and the material forming the head (1) is then cast at a temperature such as to cause the surface fusion of the insert (4) and the consequent establishment of metallurgical adhesion between the insert (4) and the material forming the head.
