[origin: WO8809849A1] A reinforcing frame (10) is disclosed for providing continuous reinforcement for a concrete wall (18) cast in longitudinal sections within a trench (17). The frame (10) comprises vertical bars (11) and horizontal bars (12) to form a rectangular cage (14) to one end of which a blocking plate (13) is attached for blocking the flow of wet concrete along the trench (17). The vertical edges of the blocking plate (13) are formed as channel-shaped formations (9) which engage with vertical bars (15) attached to the end of an adjacent further reinforcing frame (16). After the clearances between the formations (9) and the bars (15) have been filled with concrete which has set, continuous longitudinal reinforcement of the concrete wall (18) is achieved. Methods of forming a reinforced concrete wall and producing a multi-tiered concrete retaining wall are also disclosed.
