The safety ski binding has a releasable front jaw (11), which engages at one end of the ski boot (15), and a heel jaw (12) engaging at the other end of the ski boot (15), whose housing (16) is mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable in longitudinal guides (13), which are fixed to the ski, at least with vertical clearance and is pressed against the ski boot (15) by at least one pressure spring (14) which is supported on one side on the heel jaw housing (16) and at the other end on a bolt (18) which is fixed to the ski and is longitudinally adjustable. Eine Sicherheitsskibindung weist einen an einem Ende des Skistiefels (15) angreifenden auslösbaren Vorderbacken (11) und einen am anderen Ende des Skistiefels (15) angreifenden Fersenbacken (12) auf, dessen Gehäuse (16) zumindest mit vertikalem Spiel in skifesten Längsführungen (13) längsverschieblich gelagert und durch wenigstens eine Anschubfeder (14) gegen den Skistiefel (15) gedrückt ist, welche sich einseitig am Fersenbackengehäuse (16) und andererseits an einem skifesten und längsverstellbaren Riegel (18) abstützt. Zwischen dem sich am Riegel (18) abstützende Ende der Anschubfeder (14) und dem Riegel (18) befindet sich eine Kraftzerlegungsvorrichtung (20), welche einen Teil der Längskraft (F) der Anschubfeder (14) in zwei entgegengesetzte, den Riegel (18) in Richtung des Skis (21) und das Fersenbackengehäuse (16) vom Ski weg beaufschlagende Spreizkraft (S) zerlegt.
