[origin: EP0394970A2] The lower outter blade for a set of cutters on a sewing machine is a rectangular plane plate with a mounting section having two bores for fixing by screws to the blade carrier. The cutting section is septd. by a V-notch and has on its inside the cutting edge to cooperate with the upper cutter blade. It is mounted such that the notch is opposite to the sewing direction. The sharp front edge, pointing in the sewing direction, has a curved fluted edge ot prevent the accumulation of cloth and thread remnants.
