Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0395834A1] In a flat bottomed bag (1), made of paper, plastic film or similar foldable material, at least one of the two flat bottoms (3) bears on its outside a gripping strip (7) of essentially the length of the bottom, which gripping strip comprises connecting regions (9) at the ends of essentially the width of the bottom and a carrying region (10) which extends between said connecting regions and is narrower in relation to the latter. The gripping strip (7) forms a part of a prefabricated blank unit (6) which comprises a separation sheet (11) which is situated without connection below the carrying region (10) of the gripping strip (7), the width of which separation sheet corresponds to that of the gripping strip (7) in its connecting regions (9) at the ends, but the length of which separation sheet, measured in the longitudinal direction of the bottom is shortened in relation to the length of the gripping strip (7) to two narrow connecting regions (12) on both sides of the carrying region (10) of the gripping strip (7), in which connecting regions the separation sheet (11) and the gripping strip (7) are joined together. The blank unit (6) is bonded with its free underside, composed of the undersides of the connecting regions (9) of the gripping strip (7) at the ends and the underside of the separation sheet (11), as a whole to the outside of the flat bottom (3) and covers the latter essentially completely in the manner of a bottom covering sheet. <IMAGE>
