The drum casing (1) produced from a sheet-metal strip is joined together annularly along a seam (4) at least approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum by means of two bending edges (2, 3) folded in a hook-shaped manner, as seen in cross-section. So that this folded seam (4) withstands the great stresses appearing at high spinning speeds, the joined seam (4) is equipped with a plurality of beads (5, 6) oriented transversely relative to its course. <IMAGE>

Der aus einem Blechstreifen gefertigte Trommelmantel (1) ist in einer wenigstens annähernd parallel zur Trommeldrehachse liegenden Naht (4) mittels zweier, im Querschnitt hakenförmig gefalzter Biegekanten (2,3) ringförmig zusammengefügt. Damit diese Falznaht (4) den bei hohen Schleuderdrehzahlen auftretenden großen Beanspruchungen Stand hält, ist die gefügte Naht (4) mit mehreren, quer zu ihrem Verlauf orientierten Sicken (5,6) versehen.
