The control device (9) switches on the adjusting drives (2) of the ink metering elements (1) in the direction of the inking roller (3), determines whether the measurement signals of the position indicators (5) change with time and switches off those adjusting drives (2) of the ink metering elements (1) whose positions no longer change with time since the ink metering elements (1) are resting on the inking roller (3).
