[origin: WO9003218A1] The invention relates to an endothermic gas generator (1) intended for heat treatment furnaces of the kind in which objects are heat treated under the influence of a process gas generated by catalytic reaction. The generator comprises an outer cylindrical casing (2) provided with an end wall (3) having process gas outlet openings (43). The generator further comprises an inner tube (8) which is located within the casing (2) in coaxial, spaced relationship therewith, and in which a burner (26) is inserted. A catalytic bed (15) is located outside the inner tube (8), between the forward end of the burner (26) and the end wall (3). The inventive generator is characterized in that the inner tube (8) forms in front of the burner (26) a burner gas channel (42) which communicates, between the end wall (3) and the catalytic bed (15), with a further burner gas channel (41) which is located radially outside the catalytic bed and extends along the whole length of the bed. The catalytic bed has the configuration of a cylindrical shell (15), which surrounds the inner tube (8).

La présente invention se rapporte à un générateur de gaz endothermique (1) pour fours de traitement thermique du type où des objets sont traités thermiquement sous l'action d'un gaz de traitement produit par réaction catalytique. Le générateur comprend un logement cylindrique externe (2) pourvu d'une paroi terminale (3) comportant des ouvertures de sortie (43) pour le gaz de traitement. Le générateur comprend en outre un tube intérieur (8) qui est disposé dans le logement (2) en relation coaxiale et espacé avec lui et dans lequel est disposé un brûleur (26). Un lit catalytique (15) est placé à l'extérieur du tube intérieur (8) entre l'extrémité avant du brûleur (26) et la paroi terminale (3). Le générateur de la présente invention se caractérise en ce que le tube intérieur (8) forme à l'avant du brûleur (26) un canal de gaz de brûleur (42) qui communique entre la paroi terminale (3) et le lit catalytique (15), avec un autre canal de gaz de brûleur (41), lequel est disposé radialement à l'extérieur du lit catalytique et s'étend sur toute la longueur du lit. Le lit catalytique a la configuration d'une enveloppe cylindrique (15) qui entoure le tube intérieur (8).
